International Friends was founded in 2002 in order to provide high quality tours at an affordable price for overseas visitors to the UK.

The company’s founding director, tourism and marketing graduate Martin Robinson had previously had more than 15 years of experience in key positions in some of the UK’s top travel companies. In a short space of time, International Friends carved out a reputation for providing high quality tours UK and European weekend breaks affordable prices. We also put our GUARANTEED DEPARTURE POLICY in place, which ensured that we never cancelled our tours due to low demand.

By early 2006 it was very clear that International Friends was becoming one of the main inbound scheduled tour companies for overseas visitors to Britain. Our client base was growing at a very fast rate and we were becoming the first choice with many UK inbound travel agents, as few other companies met our standards in achieving almost total client satisfaction. People simply returned from our tours, wanting more and telling their friends and relatives about us.

In 2007 we noticed that a large proportion of our clients booked online before travelling to the UK. Despite the high value of the British Pound, International Friends could still offer guided tours at affordable prices, where most other companies were commanding premium rates.

Our year on year growth has enabled us to keep re-investing our profits back in our own business in order to provide an unparalleled level of customer service and choice.

By late 2009, International Friends fully merged with the inbound group travel company GTS Tours and became part of the GTI Travel Group Ltd. This development represented a very significant milestone for our company as it now means that we are now the leading travel company for overseas visitors to the UK.

We cover everything from meet and greet airport services to fully organized group travel. We have our own transport division and we also own our own touring vehicles.
