Optional Tours from Edinburgh

City tour of Edinburgh (2 hours from approx. 11.20am on 30 December) - £25 per person
Join our local kilted guide for an historical tour of Edinburgh's old and new town. This tour starts at Waverley Station and ends at your accommodation and will give you a great appreciation of Edinburgh's gruesome history 

Loch Ness, Glenco & Scottish Highlands (1st January 2009) - £30 per person

Enjoy a spectacular New Year's Day out and explore some of the most beautiful and dramatic areas of Scotland. After a morning coffee stop at Kilmahog, we travel through Rob Roy Country and arrive at the Weeping Glen of Glencoe, the infamous site of the 1692 Massacre, for a photo stop after another short drive we arrive at Fort William for lunch. Fort William is in the shadow of Ben Nevis - Britain's highest mountain. We then continue to Spean Bridge where we have another opportunity to view and photograph Ben Nevis. From here we follow the Caledonian Canal to Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. here you will have ample time to view the 12th Century castle, visit the new Visitor's Centre which offers an audio visual display along with other interesting objects and take a short cruise on the Loch if you wish. After your cruise the coach will pick you up and we start our homeward journey by way of the Grampian Mountains, passing Blair Castle in the distance famous for it's private army. at Pitlochry we have a short break before arriving in Edinburgh at approximately 20.15 hrs at the Elas Guest House/Claremont Hotel, where the tour ends.

Whisky, Water & Wallace  - visit Scotland's oldest single malt whisky distillery on your last day in Scotland - (2nd January) - £32per person

We leave Edinburgh at 09.00 for a day out with a difference.  We drive through rolling countryside, passing Stirling Castle in the distance and the Wallace Monument.  Wallace was immortalised in the movie (Braveheart).  We pass the Lake of Menteith before arriving at Aberfoyle for morning coffee.  After coffee we drive over the Dukes Pass with a photo stop.  This area of Scotland is called the "Trossachs", we travel through stunning scenery passing Loch Earn through beautiful Perthshire until you come to Glenturret Whisky Distillery.  This is Scotland's oldest single malt whisky working distillery, established in 1775. Here you will have an inter-active show and be able to taste the finished product.  It will also be possible to have lunch there.  On the way home we pass Gleneagles, famous for Golf and then the Forth Bridge for a view of the famous Rail Bridge before arriving in Edinburgh  at 4.15pm (+/-).
