Paris by Coach - 3 days

Over the May & August Bank Holiday weekends (3-5th May, 24-26th May & 23-25th August 2008) our tours operate from Saturday to Monday. All other tours  are Friday to Sunday.

Tour Highlights

A fully guided Paris tour using good quality 3 star city-centre hotel accommodation  - outstanding value

Take a cruise on the river Seine, see the Eiffel Tower, walk along the Champs Elysées, see the Arc de Triomphe, visit Montmartre (the area in which the film Amélie was made), take a photo of the Moulin Rouge (the home of the cancan) see the Cathedral of Notre Dame and explore the Louvre Museum!

Day 1   - We start our 3 day tour from your chosen UK departure point. We travel to Paris by modern executive coach with one of our friendly drivers and our experienced Paris guide. Our journey includes a short sea crossing, from where you can usually see the famous White Cliffs and Dover Castle, as we sail towards France.

Our driver will take us directly to our 3 star hotel right in the centre of Paris.  After you have settled into your comfortable hotel room,  we will meet in the hotel reception for our guided tour of Paris. This tour includes a cruise on the spectacular river Seine and also gives you the opportunity to climb the Eiffel Tower (entrance fee is extra) to get a 'bird's eye view' of this wonderful city.

Then we pass by  the Arc de Triomphe and  Champs Elysées (with photo stops) before returning to the hotel.

During the evening, you will have the option to join your guide for dinner in a nearby local restaurant. This is a great opportunity to try the local food, whilst getting to know your fellow travellers (food, drink and any public transport is extra).

Basilique du Sacré CoeurDay 2 - After  breakfast, meet the guide at 9am for a full day of sightseeing. The first stop is Montmartre for the Sacre Coeur, Place du Tertre and Moulin Rouge. Then on to Ille de la Cite and the world famous Notre Dame Cathedral, with time for lunch and shopping on the banks of the Seine. The day finishes with some free time for shopping in Opera. Here you can shop in the department stores Galeries Lafayette or Printemps, see the Opera Garnier (entrance charge), visit the food shops Hediard or Fauchon, or maybe enjoy tea and macaroons at La Duree before the coach transfers you back to the hotel.

Alternatively, you may wish to do your own sightseeing. The Mercure Paris Bercy is so central sightseeing on your own is a very simple option, and our guide is there to help you.  Some ideas are the Orsay Museum (1850-1914 art), the Pompidou Centre (modern art), or Versailles palace/gardens (outside Paris Centre).

Evening free to enjoy the Paris nightlife. From our hotel Bercy metro station is a two minute walk, and all areas of Paris City centre are easily accessible in minutes by metro. The Louvre Museum

Day 3 - A morning coach excursion to the Louvre Museum (entry not included, free on the first Sunday of every month) and your chance to see the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, Michelangelo's Dying Slave or to follow the trail of the Da Vinci Code! We depart Paris after lunch and make a short stop on the journey to Calais for some very cheap shopping (great deals on alcohol, tobacco and chocolates). We arrive back in Dover early evening 19:30-20:00, Kent drop offs between 20:00-20:30, in London 21:00-21:45 and Cambridge by 23:00/23:30.
