Our smaller vehicles will give you a more personalised tour, taking you to places that larger vehicles cannot go, and allowing you to see more while walking less.

This service is available on all dates (April to November) when Royal Caribbean, Oceania, NCL, Princess & Celebrity cruise ships are starting or ending a cruise at Civitavecchia.

You will be welcomed by your driver at the cruise port, who will be easily identified with contact number and sign with your name.

Highlights will include the prominent white marble memorial to Victor Emmanuel, known as the Altare della Patria, standing in front of the busy traffic intersection of the Piazza Venezia.

After the victories of Giuseppe Garibaldi in the mid 19th century, Victor Emmanuel II became the first king of a unified Italy in the 1860's, however the monument to him was not completed until 1925. It's enormous size dwarfs the Roman ruins around it and the structure itself contains statues, fountains and even a museum at it's base.

The Spanish steps are a must see on any trip to Rome. Follow in the footseps of Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn in "Roman Holiday" and climb these monumental stairs from the Piazza di Spagna up to the Trinita dei Monti at the top. Head over to the iconic Trevi fountain to make a wish. Immerse yourself in "La Dolce Vita". Throw a coin over your left shoulder. You will not be alone in this, up to 3,000 people are said to do the same every day. But take time to admire the intricate stonework and sculptings of Rome's largest fountain and maybe your wish to return to the Eternal City will come true.

You will be taken on a visit to see the Pantheon, the temple to many Gods of Olympus, a Roman building that owes it's survival because of its conversion to a Christian church in the Third Century AD. Built around 126AD, this essay in Roman architecture features an elegant portico and rotunda with a dome which, even today, is the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world. A superb testiment to Roman engineering. Certainly, the best preserved of all the Roman buildings in the city, it became a blueprint for Classical, Renaissance and Neo-Classical buildings worldwide.

One of the greatest of Rome's open spaces is the Piazza Navona with it's collection of fountains by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and it's Renaissance buildings, crowned by the spectacular Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi. Once a Roman stadium, it has hosted markets and festivals since being declared a public square in 1490. You will have a chance to explore this remarkable area before being driven up to the summit of Janiculum Hill where in 1849 Giuseppe Garibaldi defeated the French to secure a untited Italy, and from where you can admire a stunning view over the city of Rome before the transfer to your hotel is completed.

PLEASE NOTE - The professional guided tour will be conducted on foot by a professional Rome tour guide. Your driver will transport you from the port to begin the tour, and at the end of the tour the guide will return you to the vehicle.
