Highclere Castle Special Event - Heroes at Highclere
Heroes at Highclere
On the 100 year anniversary of the end of the First World War, the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon will be opening Highclere Castle to raise money for those who serve, and those who save in today's world.
This day trip includes:
- Round trip transfers from London in executive minicoach, with a maximum 18 people per vehicle.
- Highclere Castle & Heroes at Highclere event entry ticket (allows entry to Castle and the grounds)
This fantastic event marks the end of the summer opening period, your last chance to see Highclere Castle before filming for the Downton Abbey movie begins in September. To celebrate, you will have the opportunity to explore the Castle whilst enjoying an incredible air display, exploring a First World War Field Hospital, learning to dance the Charleston and hearing from journalists and authors with first hand experience of the horrors of war.
In the Castle - Tour the State rooms, Gallery Bedrooms and Egyptian Exhibition. Many of the rooms from the Downton Abbey series can be seen on the tour
In the Grounds - Visit the Médecins Sans Frontières modern Land Rover and Field Hospital, set up next to a recreated First World War Field Hospital. There will be vintage car displays, a 'History of Flight' tent, Cream teas, fairground rides and more
In the Air - Incredible airshows including the Red Arrows (Saturday only), B17 Flying Fortress, Great War Display Team, P51 Mustang (Sunday only) and Spitfire.
