Journey with us to the mountains of the west. To Wales, land of myth and magic, of legends and of song. We begin with a drive to the border town of Chester to walk the ancient walls and see the Roman remains. Stroll through the unique galleried shops, known as The Rows, some dating back 400 years. Visit the cathedral and photograph the famous Eastgate Clock.
Once over the border we follow the dramatic North Wales coastline passing castles and mountains to the 13th fortified town of Conwy. These days it's but a quiet and picturesque fishing village with its imposing castle, but it's location was fought over by both Welsh and English. Here too, we can walk around its medieval walls and also grab fish and chips by the harbour side. You will have time to visit the castle (charges apply) or "The Smallest House in Britain" (a small donation applies!).
We spend the night in the elegant Victorian resort of Llandudno with its sweeping seafront and delightful pleasure pier. There is plenty of local entertainment and traditional pubs to keep you busy in the evening.
Our cosy bed and breakfast provide welcoming comfortable rooms and a full cooked breakfast before we tackle the Great Orme, by foot or bus, the choice is yours, but we all get the same amazing view from the top. We then travel to the Isle of Anglesey over the treacherous Menai Straits, now safely crossed by two magnificent bridges. We head to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, the village with the longest name in the world and then into the wonderful landscape of the Snowdonia National Park with a nature walk around delightful Beddgelert and a ride on the charming Ffestiniog Railway along narrow gauge mountain tracks while being hauled by a Victorian steam locomotive. A guided drive through more wonderful Welsh countryside and moorland awaits us as we head back towards the direction of England.
Please note due to the nature of this tour, the route and itinerary are subject to weather and road conditions and therefore may be changed while the tour is in progress. The Ffestiniog Railway is closed during the winter months - we will include a visit to Caernarfon Castle instead.

Do we get to hike up to the summit of Snowdon at Snowdonia National Park? Is there any hiking involved?
No, this is a taster tour of Wales, therefore, not an activity based adventure. Comfortable clothing & shoes are recommended as you will be doing some gentle walking but this is not a hiking trip.
What sort of clothing would be suitable for the trip?
We would recommend you keep an eye on the weather forecast nearer to your tour date, some waterproof clothing and a warm fleece in the colder months.
