We are pleased to offer an amazing experience to all of you that enthuse and admire mysterious Stonehenge and our ancient Neolithic culture. What could be better than a personal tour before the crowds, past the ropes, into the middle of the stones, to the inner sanctum, to walk where very few people have had a chance to walk, a very personal special access tour to the very centre of Stonehenge at sunrise?
We make an early start from London to travel direct to Stonehenge. Eerily quiet, save for the first birdsong, we make our way up to the monument where it has stood for over 5,000 years. We then move to the centre of the stones, and all around us, at every viewpoint, surrounding us at all sides, giant standing stones cut, dressed and transported by Neolithic man across the landscape to align to the sun. And in the first light of dawn we embrace the energy of our ancestors. But then again, are we left with more questions than answers. We will have an expert guide on hand to illustrate what is known and what may never be known about this enigmatic site. Our guide will be detailing the history of this awe inspiring monument before you have a chance to wander around Stonehenge at leisure and get those amazing photographs only very few get the chance to take.
Continuing our visit, after daybreak, we can explore this beautiful landscape of rolling chalk hills and thatched cottages in the ancient Kingdom of Wessex. Following the beautiful River Avon down to a traditional pub for a cooked English breakfast and a chance to visit magnificent Salisbury Cathedral built from 1220 to 1258, boasting an original copy of Magna Carta and the tallest tower and spire in the country. A perfect essay in early Gothic architecture and a delightful end to our tour before we return to London. Our estimated return time to London is 14:00pm.
