Itinerary
Stonehenge
Start the day with a drive into the ancient county of Wessex, through the chalk hills that surround Stonehenge. Arriving at this prehistoric site as it opens, and before the crowds arrive, enjoy a fully guided visit to the historic Stone Circle. Learn of the building methods and the possible purpose of the monument, while your guide discusses what is known and what may never be known about the site. Admire its powerful presence, then take some time to experience the excellent visitor centre before continuing west to the Roman city of Bath.
Bath
Tour highlights in the UNESCO-listed city of Bath include the hot springs, the remains of the 2,000 year-old Roman baths, and the Roman Temple. Follow in the footsteps of the Romans themselves along the pretty streets, and perhaps stop for lunch in one of the city’s elegant tea rooms. You’ll also explore the 18th-century crescents and Georgian squares, built as Bath became a social centre for high society and the landed gentry — with bathing, dining, dancing, and all manner of entertainment and relaxation.
If you wish to enter the Roman Baths you will be required to pre-book your entry (excluding Tuesday & Wednesday). You can do this directly with The Roman Baths: https://www.romanbaths.co.uk/
Windsor
The final stop on your day trip from London is Windsor, home to the oldest and largest continuously occupied castle in the world. Here, you'll have time to visit Windsor Castle, including the state apartments, reception rooms, and the Royal Chapel of St George — the final resting place of many of our kings and queens.
Windsor Castle is a working Royal residence, and as such can be subject to last-minute closures. Please be aware there will be a walk of approximately 15 minutes from the coach park to Windsor Castle. Parts of the walk are uphill and may not be suitable for passengers with mobility issues.
St George’s Chapel is closed to visitors on Sundays as services are held throughout the day so you will not be able to enter the chapel. Access to St George’s Chapel may be limited on busy days and during service.
On Tuesday & Wednesday Windsor Castle does not open. On these days we will still visit Windsor Town but entry to the Castle will not be possible. We will include entry to the Roman Baths instead, and then when in Windsor your guide will conduct a walking tour of this beautiful, historic town which will include photo opportunities of the Castle. (applicable to Tuesday & Wednesday only)

Helpful Information about the day of your Tour
Stonehenge, Bath & Windsor
Are the meeting points easy to find?
YES! All are within short walking distances of tube and bus stops, and very easy access for taxis. We recommend you arrive at the meeting point 10 minutes before the departure time. Your International Friends day trip has been carefully planned to ensure maximum enjoyment, which sadly means we cannot delay our departure times to wait for latecomers. This would impact the day's itinerary and could mean we miss booked entry times at certain attractions. If you are running late please phone the emergency number and our team will help you. If you miss the departure for your tour, you are welcome to join the tour at the first scheduled stop. Any expenses incurred in doing so will be at your own expense. Refunds cannot be issued for passengers who miss their tours departure through lateness.
How will I identify the International Friends vehicle at the meeting point?
Depending on the number of people travelling on a particular day we use 8 or 16 seater executive vehicles. On arrival at the pickup location the guide/driver will announce themselves, will be holding a sign reading “International Friends” and will be aware of your names ready to welcome you on board.
How much time at each sightseeing stop?
All of our day trips have been carefully planned to ensure maximum enjoyment.
Stonehenge - Approximately 1 hour 10 minutes. This tour is planned to get to Stonehenge first, before the large coaches, missing the queues and crowds!
Bath - We will spend approximately 2 hours in Bath enjoying a coach panoramic tour of the city and time to enter the Roman Baths if you choose (entry included on Tuesday & Wednesday). If you wish to purchase your own entry to the Roman Baths on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, please book 12 midday entry (summer itinerary) or 3:30pm (winter itinerary).
Windsor Castle - Last stop of the day. We spend approximately 1 hour and a half in Windsor - entry included when the Castle is open.
In Winter months (Nov – Feb) this itinerary runs in reverse and will visit Windsor Castle, then Stonehenge and Bath will be the last stop of the day.
Are entries into the attractions included in my ticket price?
This tour includes entry into Stonehenge all year round & Windsor Castle - when the Castle is open excluding Tuesday & Wednesday. Roman Baths entry is not included & is optional on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Entry to the Roman Baths is included on Tuesday & Wednesday.
The Stonehenge audio guide is a popular way of learning more about Stonehenge and its builders. You can download the audio guide free in advance or while you're on site.
Should I bring swimwear for visiting the Roman Baths?
A surprisingly common question, you’re not alone wondering this! However, the Roman Baths have long since stopped allowing people to bathe there (approximately 2000 years in fact!) and is now just a museum, so no, swimwear is not needed.
Will we be able to touch the Stones at Stonehenge?
Stonehenge has been awarded World Heritage status and is strictly protected. You will be able to walk the full parameter of the stones but sadly will not be able to touch them.
How can I find out more information about the attractions we will see on this tour?
Food and drink not included. There will be opportunities to buy food whilst touring. To maximize time spent sightseeing you are welcome to bring a packed lunch with you.
Can I bring food and drink onboard the vehicle?
There is to be NO Hot Food or Beverages (exception if hot beverage is in a sealed reusable thermal cup) on board the coaches due to the risk of scalds or burns and smells remaining on board the vehicle. Only Cold food & beverages with screw top lids are to be taken on board any vehicle. All litter must be taken from the vehicle and disposed of appropriately.
How much walking is involved in this tour?
Stonehenge - The main visitor areas are all on flat ground and are well pathed. A shuttle bus service will take you from the visitor center directly up to the Stones.
Bath - A short walk from the coach drop off point to the Roman Baths, typically takes between 15 – 20 minutes. Some parts of Bath have cobbled pavements which may be difficult for those with walking difficulties.
Windsor - There will be a walk of approximately 15 minutes from the coach park to Windsor Castle. Parts of the walk are uphill and may not be suitable for passengers with mobility issues.
What should I wear?
British weather can be variable and so guests are advised to check the weather forecast and dress appropriately. It is recommended to bring some warm clothes with you especially in the winter months and layers are good for adapting to the ever-changing weather conditions. It is a good idea to wear appropriate footwear as there is walking involved on our tours. England is known for its rain so it is advisable to bring a waterproof jacket or umbrella with you.
How many people will be joining this tour?
This is one of our Small & Friendly day trips with a maximum 16 people.
Do we need to Tip staff?
Tips are entirely at the customer’s discretion and in no way expected. Should you feel inclined to tip, your driver or guide would be grateful, but you should not feel obliged. A 10% tip is considered customary in the UK.
What time do we arrive back in London?
We aim to arrive back in London at approximately 6:30pm (7:30pm on the winter itinerary). Please note all timings are estimated, assuming normal traffic conditions. On your return to London your driver will drop you at Victoria Train Station in the city centre, one of the largest transport stations in London, with excellent connections to all parts of London and beyond.
