Service Options

We have three services, tailored to cater to a range of budgets. Due to the nature of the panoramic London tour, we would strongly recommend booking a service with a guide.

Driver only
An experienced driver who is familiar with our touring routes, but does not guide. Should you book this service, you will visit Windsor independently, and enjoy a panoramic sightseeing drive with no commentary.

Driver/guide
An experienced driver who can guide from the vehicle. Please be aware that due to very limited parking options within central London, the driver guide will not be able to leave the vehcile for external guiding, or to assist with attraction entries. For all Lodonn based tours we strongly advise booking a separate guide.

Driver with guide
Our most popular option. An experienced driver and a separate professional guide who can guide from the vehicle and lead walking tours in Windsor. Please note guiding is not permitted inside Windsor Castle, but audio guides are available on site, subject to availability. Please bear in mind that when booking this service, you will need to allow a seat for the guide. For example, booking this service for 8-16 people will allow seats for a party of 15 passengers plus the guide.

Important note - Windsor Castle is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and it can also be subject to last minute closures. If you intend on visiting the Castle we strongly recommend you book in advance to guarantee entry. Booking procedure

Once we have received your booking, our expert staff will create a tailored itinerary based on your locations and pick up address. We may make suggestions and amendments to ensure you maximise your time spent touring. Occasionally additional fees may be applicable in order to accommodate all of your requests e.g where itineraries will require unusually early or late starts or finishes, or if additional pick ups and drop offs are required. If you do have any special requests we recommend you contact us before booking.

Recommended Itinerary

Your private London & Windsor day trip begins with collection from your London or Heathrow address. We can collect from your hotel lobby, air bnb, airport arrival terminal, train station, guest house or private address. With your private chauffeur, you'll make the short drive from bustling London to the green fields of the Royal County of Berkshire, into the tranquil pastures of Runnymede; an important Saxon meeting place and historic settlement. This wooded valley bore witness to the conclusion of the Barons' Revolt that gave us Magna Carta, our major constitution sealed by King John in 1215.

Following the Thames upstream we arrive at Windsor Castle, fortress to some, Royal home to others, this impressive structure is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. See the lavishly furnished rooms of the Royal apartments, visit St George's Chapel and relive the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. See the tombs of Kings and Queens and the heraldry of the Order of the Knights of the Garter. Head down to the Lower Ward to witness the Changing of the Guard (selected days only). After spending some time in this majestic building, enjoy a spot of lunch in the delightful town.

After lunch, your driver will follow the Thames back towards London for an eye opening drive through this spectacular city. This is your chance to see old favourites like Parliament, Westminster Abbey, St.Paul's Cathedral, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. You will also drive by some of the city's more recent attractions; the Shard, Millennium Bridge, London Eye and the replica of Shakespeare's Globe theatre. Via Buckingham Palace and St James's we take a fully guided drive past Trafalgar Square, Whitehall and Downing Street, seeing some of our most iconic museums; the Victoria and Albert, the Natural History Museum, the National Gallery and the Tate Modern. Skirting the edges of London's beautiful open spaces by way of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, you will see Kensington Palace, the official residence of Prince William and Catherine, the new Prince and Princess of Wales.. Your driver will take you through the local area, where the younger Royals partied the night away such as the famous Mahiki nightclub and the many exclusive restaurants and bars in Chelsea.

Let's not forget that wherever we drive in London we will be constantly passing the homes of great writers and poets, politicians, adventurers, inventors, actors and artisans, famous or infamous, most of them gone but certainly not forgotten. Locations brought to life in film or literature, bustling markets, quiet backstreets, wartime destruction, peacetime rebuilding, private palaces, public gardens, a colourful history, a bloody past, lost buildings, lost rivers, stunning architecture and breathtaking views........undoubtedly something for everyone!

Please note that all timings above are estimated and assuming normal traffic conditions. Due to the changeable nature of road conditions, we cannot guarantee a precise time when you will arrive back in London.

Are entries to the attractions and meals included?

Attraction entries and meals are not included in the prices for private tours, however we can of course make recommendations and assist with this if needed.

We do strongly recommend you pre-book your Windsor Castle entry. We can arrange this for you if you add tickets on at time of booking. Booking your entry tickets with us allows flexible booking terms and you would recived a full refund on entry tickets should you need to cancel any time up to 2 weeks before travel.

Please be aware that Windsor Castle do not allow guiding inside the premises. If you have booked a guide to accompany you for the day they will assist you with your entry, but will have to adhere to the attractions guiding policy once inside. Windsor Castle does not open to the public on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. If you are planning this tour for one of these days, entry to the Castle will not be possible, but your guide (if one is booked) will be able to offer a walking tour of the town and photo opportunities of the outside of the Castle.

Please do not add Windsor Castle entry tickets to your booking if you are travelling on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

If there is a particular London attraction you'd like to enter as part of your London sightseeing please do let us know - we can arrnge entries for many of the main attraciton including Tower of London & The London Eye.

Is this service only available from London or Heathrow?

The advertised prices are based on pick up and drop off from central London (zone 1 & 2) or Heathrow. But we can also offer this service from selected locations outside central London on request. Please email your enquiry to [email protected] for further details.

How much luggage can I bring?

When booking private tours where you will have luggage (e.g. starting or ending at a cruise terminal or airport), please ensure you check the below for information regarding vehicle luggage capacity.

Booking 1-3 people, the vehicle will accommodate up to 3 large cases and 3 small (carry on) cases
Booking 1-6 people, the vehicle will accommodate up to 7 large cases and 7 small (carry on) cases
Booking 7-16 people, the vehicle will accommodate up to 12 large cases and 12 small (carry on) cases

Large cases must have a maximum weight of 23kg per case, small cases a maximum 10kg per case.

Should you wish to bring any mobility aids (wheelchairs or walkers) you MUST contact us in advance to let us know. We will require full dimensions and weight. These items must be able to be folded and stored in the luggage hold. Wheelchairs must be counted as 1 item of your hold luggage.

Are there any time limitations?

All private tour prices are based on 9 - 10 hours. Our office staff are experts in being able to help you plan your route in advance, to help you get the most out of your day. On the day of your booking our experienced team of drivers and guides will also be able to help and advise you if they need to make time or route alterations depending on prevailing traffic conditions.

All British professional driver working hours are regulated by law in the interests of your safety. Our standard scheduled itineraries are compliant with the current regulations.
